Présence Africaine is a pan-African quarterly cultural, political, and literary magazine started in 1947 by Alioune Diop in Paris, France. They expanded in 1949 to include a publishing company and a bookstore on rue des Écoles in Paris's Latin Quarter, which contains a plethora of wonderful books about race and colonialism to (un)learn from.
